Skillweb’s x-docking solution caters for both your physical distribution and your electronic management of goods as they pass through your depots. Electronically we can handle pre-advice from your customers (suppliers, retailers, importers, warehouse operators and so on) and you can view your anticipated in-bound activities. As you physically receipt goods you can then change their status accordingly throughout the time the goods are in your depot, so for example: receipted, in storage, picked, packed, despatched. Should the goods be faulty, or dangerous or need further inspection then you can record this and move the item into either a nominated location or a holding area as the issue is resolved.
Critically you will benefit from better planning, increased accuracy, and the ability to deal with issues immediately, recovering elegantly as they occur. In particular the put away function allows you to manage storage locations so that you can subsequently find goods efficiently to fulfil packing and despatch activities. By working at an item (or piece) level you will be able to provide itemised manifests, increase your utilisation of available resource (ULDs, vehicles, containers, etc.) and ensure your actual activities are in step with your plans. Your manifests will be able to comply with Cargo 2000 Phase III requirements and also meet the increasingly stringent security requirements for international movement.
Integrated solutions
TOP depot x-docking can simply be used in a stand alone mode, so if all you do is receipt, store, pick and pack and finally despatch for your customers then this is an ideal product. The chances are however that whilst depot x-docking might be the core of your business you probably do a lot more. TOP x-dock will therefore dovetail into your existing operations and as a package can be integrated into order management, trip scheduling, mobile track and trace solutions and of course a financial package to enable invoicing. TOP x-dock integrates seamlessly into Skillweb’s other proven family of products, TOP order management, TOP trip scheduling, and TOP track and trace combining to create an enterprise solution we call TOP order fulfilment.

Productivity comes from planning and then reacting elegantly to issues as they happen, reducing the time spent managing, increasing your visibility and pro-actively eliminating bottlenecks and so forth. Your pre-advice can be your plan. This can be used to check receipts, allowing anomalies to be quickly identified and dealt with. Top x-dock allows you to capture ‘overs’ and ‘unders’ as well as weights and measures and images if required. Exceptions, damage, hazardous items, too heavy can all be dealt with simply and efficiently.
What we can offer you
Bought as a single site licence or as part of an enterprise wide solution we can guarantee a cost-effective solution that will provide a rapid return on your investment. The solution requires at least one PC with web access to access our application which runs as a service sitting on central servers. Your depot users need mobile wireless computers running our application connected to the central server. We can either procure this hardware for you or advise on the specification if you wish to buy them yourselves. We will then discuss and agree the best way to gather pre-advice and to populate your plan.
The solution will need to be configured to apply your business rules, so for example – how do you want to record ‘damaged on receipt’ coupled with to whom should you send the result for the next action? Once the configuration phase is signed off we would implement the solution, train you and support you going forward. Future activities will be to upgrade you as new features and functions are released as part of our product road map.
